After plentiful feasts and friendly meetings, the morning comes, when we ask ourselves, how much can our organism withstand? Judging by a morning headache and unpleasant sensations in the stomach area – the holidays do not pass without a trace. How to help the liver to recover?

Festive folly According to experts, about 20 grams of pure ethanol per day for men (200 ml of wine or 500 ml of beer) are considered relatively harmless for the liver (half as much for women). However, it is worth remembering that even such a dose harms other organs. So, for example, there is no safe dose for the brain and pancreas: alcohol in any amount brings damage.

1 – 2 packs of cigarettes contain a lethal dose of nicotine. A smoker is saved by the fact that this dose is injected into the body not immediately but fractional. In addition, some of the nicotine neutralizes formaldehyde, another poison contained in tobacco. It is known that nicotine is a potent vasoconstrictor. A liver is one of the most blood-filled human organs.

When overeating, especially fatty foods, a lot of fatty acids – split fats – is formed in the intestine. They all rush into the portal veins of the liver and are deposited in it in the form of triglycerides. This disrupts metabolic processes in the liver and leads to the development of the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Fortunately, the liver has very good recovery abilities. But only until the liver cells are replaced by connective tissue (this is called fibrosis). In this case, the process is already irreversible.

Therefore, the process of restoration of the liver must begin with a complete rejection of any alcohol. You can help the liver with a diet. We are not talking about a heavy diet with medications, such as Meridia and Phentermine, but about proper nutrition.

  1. Useful products.

A healthy liver is cleaned daily by excretion of bile. Stimulate this process and help the liver to remove toxins: fresh herbs with a tart or bitter taste will help. It can be rucola, Roman salad, watercress, green leaf lettuce. Pumpkin, carrots, beets, zucchini, turnip, daikon, cabbage (broccoli, white-bellies, Brussels) and artichokes also give a strong effect.

  1. Important hepatoprotectors.

All nuts (except peanuts), pumpkin and sunflower seeds are active liver protectors (hepatoprotectors). They contain essential phospholipids and fat-soluble antioxidant vitamins A and E. These substances neutralize free radicals and serve as a building material for the restoration of liver cells.

  1. Useful water.

The most useful water for purification of the liver is magnesium-sulfate water. It gives the most pronounced choleretic effect. In a day, you can drink a maximum of 150-200 ml before meals. If the liver disease is accompanied by a decreased secretion of the stomach, you need to choose water in which there are sodium chlorides along with sulfates. With increased acidity, it is recommended to drink mineral water for an hour and a half before meals, at normal – for 45 minutes, and with a lowered – for 15 minutes.

  1. Restore power mode.

It is better to refuse from a habitual sandwich for breakfast and replace it with a healthy breakfast for the liver – freshly squeezed juice (preferably pear or apple), berries (contain papain, coenzyme Q10 and others, especially in the peel, essential for the liver). Sprouts, legumes, low-fat dairy products and honey will also help.

The most useful dinner for the liver is dairy products, lean meat, fish, pasta, and vegetables.
